Alaska's Just Around the Corner
I bought new camera today. I get it tomorrow. I really hope I like it considering I'm buying it sight unseen. Crazy, huh? I know. I've been reading so much about the latest compact digitals, and I just couldn't find one that looked like what I wanted. (I'm leaving on vacation next week and wanted to bring a compact one.) Steve's Digicam rated this one pretty well (Casio P600), so I'm sold. I hope it performs. My first digital was a Casio way back when, and that bit the dust. It was complicated back then. I bought it when they first came out for consumers. Lisa is thrilled. She gets my current digital which is still a great camera. (Olympus 4040)
Now I'll be lugging my laptop (not a slimline) and camera bag with my SLR, compact digital, and lenses on the plane. I hate traveling with a lot of stuff, but I plan on taking a lot of pictures.
Today I got the two pairs of binoculars ordered from Overstock.com. What a great store. Whatever you buy it's $2.95 to ship. The binoculars were cheap, like $12.00, and small - perfect for the trip, and made by Meade.
Now all I need is warm clothes. I'm a Florida girl. 80 degrees is nothing to me. We'll be lucky if we hit 70, and that's cool down here.
I am in for the trip of a lifetime!

I...am...sooooooooooooooooooo ...jealous!!!! Really looking forward the photos!

Where are you going Ellen, and why do you need binoculars? I hope you have fun, and don't do what I wouldn't do, what ever that means.

Oh, Alaska! Guess I'm going blind like my dad, but at least I have not try to hurt anyone like he did when he thought they were Bigfoot.

I hope I can take pictures of Bigfoot, too. Your dad has done a lot of stuff!
