Okay, when I got the e-mail that I got this meme from Michelle, I was about ready to scream, since I had just gotten through telling her how much I liked sharing myself with other people. (Ugh!) Then she hits he with a meme. Poor me me, but this one is actually handlable - I made up that word.
Grab the closest book to you. Resist the urge to get hold of one of the cooler, intellectual ones! You've gotta be honest. Turn to page 123. Go down five sentences, and then post the next three sentences in your blog. Simple.
I'm reading Charms For the Easy Life by Kaye Gibbons. I don't know where I got it. I just picked it up and started reading and it turned out to be okay. No mystery, which I prefer, but it tells little bit of history about someone's life.
"The teacher attributed her mistake to transposed dates in her notes, and spent the rest of the period on The Scarlett Letter, which was her specialty. She would make pronouncements on plot and theme and then look straight at my grandmother, daring her to disagree. She didn't, but only because her mind had drifted."
This is going to Janis, who probably has a book about donks, Miss GraceD, who needs more to do, and Ricky, because he always sends these things to me and it's about time I sent one back. Also, I'm sure he's reading some highly scientic, yet interesting book about the toxic effects of Molybdenum. Go for it, guys!

Sounds like fun - but (ack!) I'm afraid I peeked at the meme while I'm still at the office with only biz books about me. I don't wanna reference a biz book! Lemme get home and recreate the scene as it was meant to be and then post back to my blog. 'kay?

New word of the day -- handlable. I love it. I'll use it three times in a sentence tomorrow.

Okay. This is SO not my fault. I did this one!! I did it over at Michelle's and she didn't meme me but because it was short I did it right away...and darn it. If I'd known you were going to do it I would have done it here.
*pant pant*

Done!
But if I had done this at work, the result would have been from Working Relationships: The Simple Truth About Getting Along with Friends and Foes at Work by Bob Wall, who says to speak up:
I had to fire someone this week, so this is an timely quote for me right now.

Or even a timely quote. Take your choice. ;-)

Ellen, you know you had it coming! Okay, now I'm all insecure about why Faith would have preferred doing the meme on your blog instead of mine. Pout.
