I just can back from a week in St. John. It was so much fun!!! Mike and I went with 6 other people and rented house with a fantastic view. A friend put the trip together and did a wonderful job. The people there are all so nice. (Except one nurse in the clinic there.)
I sprained my ankle on the second day - no, no drinking, 8:00 am in the morning, probably no coffee. I fell off ONE STEP. I heard my ankle crack big time for about 10 seconds and I must have yelled, because everone came running. I don't remember that. I've never done any thing like that before. Someone made the comment that there were no bones protruding - I think I couldn't have handled that... We all went to the "ER" and the x-ray machines don't work on Tuesday and Thursday. They wanted me to take a ferry to St. Thomas and go to the ER there - an all-day affair, on a bad foot. No thanks! I never knew if it was broken or not until I got home week later. It was swollen and numb, thank goodness. What a way to put a damper on the trip. The nurse said my friends needed to leave because it was going to take too long, but she implied they were troublemakers. They probably were. Crutches and all, we had lots of laughs.

What a gorgeous place! I'm so sorry about the foot. Is it broken or badly sprained? I think a break is actually easier and quicker to repair than a sprain or pull. It's great to see you back on the blog!

Margaret thanks for thinking about my foot. I wasn't even going to write again, but then I got the kind e-mail from "downwithwhittie" who is a stranger to my site, and he/she also had concerns about my foot, AND saw the humor in my accident. Especially as I am from Florida, year 'round, and DO have a pale foot, unlike all the seasonal residents.
Also, my daughter, having a hispanic boyfriend for the last four years, has really aided in my paranoia and fear of other cultures, especially hispanics....
The bush-monkey comment was the best, though. Of course I am on his side!! Just read my site and you (down with whittie) can see all of the reasons I am pro-bush.
I know your comment was a joke, by the way, but what is a whittie? (I don't believe in hell.)

A "whittie" is like a regular white person, but one with a pale, fat foot.
